Description
Most shell cases print a vehicle onto a flat colour. This one prints a whole scene: sky blue across the top half with small white clouds, a green grass strip along the bottom, and a dark blue off-road jeep with oversized tyres parked on it. Crossed chequered flags sit at the left and the ORV lettering runs beneath them in yellow and red.
The effect is that the artwork has a horizon, and a horizon makes a difference at a distance — this is the case a parent can spot from the classroom door. It is also why the design still holds together when the case is viewed from the side, because the sky and grass bands wrap the curve of the shell rather than stopping at the edge of a rectangle.
Structurally it is the standard hard-shell format done properly: a pressed foam body that dents under a thumb and comes back, a domed lid, and one zip curving round three sides so the whole thing opens in one movement.
Sky blue is a lighter shade than the royal and navy shells elsewhere in the range, so it stands out in a bag and in a drawer of near-identical black cases. It shows marks a little more readily, which the sealed print surface handles — a damp cloth takes off pencil dust and biro.
