Most cutting sets are a fruit bowl. This one is a market basket: an orange crab and a pink fish share a pink lattice basket with an aubergine, a mushroom, an onion, a corn cob, a yellow capsicum, a carrot and an avocado, and a ketchup bottle, a toy fork and a blunt knife come with them. It is a vegetable cutting toy set for kids that lets a child run a fish counter, a vegetable stall and a dinner table from the same pieces.

Each of the nine foods is two halves joined with velcro along a line moulded into the plastic. Lay the fish on its side, press the green knife into that line and the head lifts away from the tail; push the halves together and it is whole again, ready to be sold a second time. The knife has a rounded edge and no blade, so the cutting is the child's job from the first game.

The crab and the fish are the pieces children pick up first, and they change what the game is about. Cut the fish, add corn and mushroom, stand the ketchup bottle in the middle and serve with the fork: the same set that was a vegetable shop a minute ago becomes a seafood dinner. Naming every piece out loud, from brinjal and capsicum to crab, turns it into vocabulary practice for a nursery child.

The oval basket has an open weave and a scalloped rim. Piled up, it holds the crab, the fish, most of the vegetables and the fork and knife, so it is the shop display while the game runs and the place the pieces go back to when it ends.

Creators who film toy cutting and ASMR videos for YouTube buy cutting sets from us, and this one puts a crab, a fish and an onion in front of the camera instead of fruit. The solid, saturated colours stand out clearly against a plain background.

The set is plastic throughout, needs no batteries and suits children from 3 years. We send it with Cash on Delivery to Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and every other city we deliver to; stock, your city and the delivery charge are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.
