Description
Every child who watches food being chopped wants a turn with the knife. This board gives them one safely: nine wooden fruits, each made of two halves, a blunt wooden knife with a red handle, and a green board where everything has its own place.
The fruits are avocado, apple, pineapple, grape bunch, lemon, kiwi, watermelon, peach and strawberry. Each sits in a square with its name printed underneath and a tiny picture of the whole fruit, so the halves, the word and the picture all line up.
Play goes in two directions. Take the fruit out and slice it apart with the knife for pretend cooking, then fit the two halves back into the right square to tidy up. Returning each half to its labelled home is the real puzzle, and it quietly teaches the names.
The middle square has a cheerful lemon with a face and the words Hello! summer, and the board also keeps a marker clipped into a slot on the left and the knife in a slot on the right, so nothing goes missing at the end of play.
