Description
This is the least expensive way into clay play on the site: five sealed tubs of soft modelling clay, a slim window box, and nothing at all to learn first. A child lifts a lid, pulls out a lump and is making something within a minute of the parcel being opened.
Five tubs come in the box. The set in our photographs has pink, black, red, orange and green lids, but packs like this ship in assorted colours, so treat the exact five as a surprise rather than a promise. Five round windows are cut along the front of the carton, which at least lets you see what is inside before any seal is broken.
The pictures printed along the box are the modelling brief: a caterpillar, a frog, a rabbit and a dog, each built by rolling balls and ropes and pressing them together. Our own photographs show how that finishes — a frog, a snail with a coiled shell, a flower, a butterfly and a smiling star, and not one of them needed a mould or a cutter.
