This is the plain one, and that is the point. No printed cartoons, no basketball hoop, no bag of balls — just a large grey enclosure in a neutral fabric that reads as furniture rather than as a toy. In a lounge that doubles as the family's only living space, a pen you are not embarrassed to leave standing is worth more than one with extra features.
The walls are tall mesh on every side, higher than the ball-pit pens, and fine enough to see straight through. A padded sleeve runs along the whole top rail, which is the part a crawling child grabs and pulls up on, and the part their chin lands on when they misjudge it.
The door is the detail that separates this from cheaper pens. Unzip the arch on the long side and the panel folds down flat onto the floor as a mesh flap, so a crawling baby can go over it without a lip to catch a knee on. Zip it up and the wall is continuous again. A second arch on the far panel gives a matching opening on the opposite side.
