This unicorn night lamp is a chubby sitting unicorn in soft silicone, with a white body, a pink wavy mane and tail, big dark eyes, pink cheeks and a horn striped pink, blue and yellow. Switched off it is a sweet shelf piece; switched on, the whole body lights up from inside.

It is a touch lamp, worked entirely by tapping. The first tap gives a warm white glow, the second starts an automatic colour cycle that drifts through pink, blue and other shades, the third holds whichever colour is showing, and the fourth switches it off. A child who loves pink can stop it on pink and leave it there.

It is rechargeable, with no plug to keep it near a socket. The USB charging cable comes in the box and a full charge takes about two hours. On a dim warm white it runs for up to 10 hours, and in colour mode for 6 to 8 hours.

A 30-minute auto-off timer turns it off by itself half an hour after bedtime, once the child is asleep, so the battery is not drained by morning and one charge stretches over several nights.

Unicorn lamps are a favourite gift for girls from about three to ten, but boys who like rainbows enjoy the colour mode just as much. The silicone body has no glass to break, and the sitting pose with flat feet keeps it upright on a bedside table, desk or nursery shelf.

The Safencia panda lamp gives a warm white glow only, while this unicorn adds the colour cycle and the colour hold. The unicorn silicone touch night lamp costs Rs. 2,250, with Cash on Delivery to Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and every other city we deliver to.
