Five small sports balls made soft enough for a baby: a black-and-white football, a brown basketball, a green tennis ball, a blue ball printed with rugby laces and an orange ball with baseball stitching. Every one of them squeaks when it is squeezed, the chu chu sound that gives this kind of toy its name in Pakistan.

A baby gets to know a ball by holding it. These fit in one small hand and squash easily, so a one-year-old earns a squeak for every squeeze, and the colours and stitching give them something to stare at and point to. A few months later the same balls are being rolled across the floor, dropped into a basket and chased round the room.

Toddlers who sit with the family for a cricket or football match like having a set of sports balls of their own. Naming each one out loud, football, basketball, tennis ball, is an easy way into first words and colours.

They are bath toys as well: drop them in the tub and they float. Afterwards, squeeze the water out through the squeak hole and leave the balls to dry with the hole facing down.

The bag is marked for 12 months and up. These are toys for holding, squeezing and rolling indoors, not balls for real sport. Order with Cash on Delivery anywhere in Pakistan, from Lahore to Hyderabad; stock, your city and the delivery charge are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.
