A wrong piece will not slide onto a post at all, so a child learns from the toy rather than from being told.
The sorter fully loaded, with all five shape families standing in their own columns along the plain wooden base.
Description
A plain wooden base with five upright posts and twenty painted pieces to go on them. The clever part is underneath the colour: every post carries a different number of pegs, and every piece is pierced with the matching number of holes. The circle has one hole, the rectangle two, the triangle three, the square four and the pentagon five.
That is what makes this a teaching toy rather than a stacking toy. A child who tries to push the pentagon onto the circle's post finds it simply will not go down, and nobody has to say a word. The toy corrects the mistake itself, which is the whole idea behind self-correcting Montessori-style materials and the reason a one-year-old can play with it unsupervised at a low table.
There are two ways to use it and children find both without being shown. The first is sorting by shape, filling each post with its own family. The second is sorting by colour, taking one blue piece from every shape family so a whole row of posts wears the same colour. The second is harder and usually arrives about a year later.
Twenty pieces is a useful number for a nursery. Five shapes in blue, green, red and yellow means a group of four children can each take one colour, or a teacher can pull the four circles out and talk about size and thickness with nothing else on the table to distract.
This is the unboxed version, which is why it is Rs. 950. The same toy arrives in a printed carton at Rs. 1,550 — that carton carries a model number and an age marking, which matters if the toy is a present. For a child at home, a playgroup shelf or a nursery cupboard, nothing is lost by taking it without.
No dimensions are printed anywhere and there is no carton to print them on, so we quote none. The wood is painted and the base is plain plywood with a rounded edge. Ask on WhatsApp and we will measure the base and a piece from the stock in hand.

FAQs
How does a child know which piece goes where?
They cannot get it wrong. Each post carries its own number of pegs and each piece is pierced to match, so the Geometric Column Sorter physically refuses a piece that belongs on another post.
How many pieces come with it?
Twenty, plus the five-post base. The five shapes are circle, rectangle, triangle, square and pentagon, and each one is supplied in blue, green, red and yellow.
Why is this cheaper than your other geometric sorter?
Because it comes without the printed retail carton. The wooden toy is identical to the boxed version at Rs. 1,550; you are simply not paying for packaging you would throw away.
What age does it suit?
From about one year, when a child can push a piece down a post, through to three or four, when sorting by colour rather than shape becomes the harder game they set themselves.
Does it come with an age marking?
Not on this version. There is no carton, and nothing is marked on the wood, so we quote no age of our own beyond the guidance above. The boxed version carries a 10M+ marking on its carton.
What is it made of?
Painted wood on a plain plywood base. No material statement, paint detail or safety certification is printed anywhere on the Geometric Column Sorter, so we claim none.
How big is the base?
No measurement is printed on it and there is no box to carry one, so we will not quote a size. Send a WhatsApp message and we will measure the base and one piece before you order.
Is it good for a nursery rather than a home?
Particularly so. Twenty pieces in four colours lets a group of four children each work a colour, and the self-correcting posts mean a teacher is not called over every thirty seconds.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Geometric Column Sorter in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
