Description

A quarter litre of acrylic in a flip-top squeeze jar for Rs. 900, which works out to Rs. 3.60 a millilitre. Only one thing on our acrylic shelf is cheaper — our own Marie's 500 ml jar at Rs. 3.50 — so if you are buying paint by volume rather than by colour range, these two jars are where the shelf bottoms out. Three colours are stocked in this size: Lemon Yellow 215, Yellow Mid 227 and Ultramarine 443.

The label states what the paint is: quick drying, a satin finish, water based, and suitable for canvas, paper, wood and fabric, mixable with all acrylic colours and mediums. The satin finish is worth noting if you plan to combine brands — it sits between the semi-matte of our Mont Marte Signature sets and the gloss of our Keep Smiling tubes.

There is a labelling quirk here that confused us and will confuse you if you buy from a shelf rather than from this page. Each bottle carries a model code, **A-6250B** or **A-6500B**, and those codes do **not** encode the volume: both appear on 250 ml bottles and both appear on 500 ml bottles. No volume is printed on the label at all. In this 250 ml size, Lemon Yellow 215 and Ultramarine 443 are A-6250B while Yellow Mid 227 is A-6500B — same jar, same price, different code. Order by the size on the page.

Which of the two jar sizes you want comes down to how much of one colour you will actually get through. The 500 ml is Rs. 3.50 a millilitre against Rs. 3.60 here, so the saving from buying up is real but small — about 3%. Where a 250 ml jar wins is on colours you use steadily but not heavily, because a half-litre bottle of a colour you dip into occasionally will skin over at the neck long before you reach the bottom.

Like any jar, this pours rather than squeezes a ribbon, which suits backdrops, murals, base coats, school and college work and anything where a 75 ml tube disappears in a session. Wipe the nozzle before capping it — dried acrylic on the thread is what stops a jar sealing, and it is the one thing a tube handles better.

FAQs

How cheap is the Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar?

Rs. 3.60 a millilitre. Only our own Marie's Acrylic Colour 500 ml jar is cheaper, at Rs. 3.50, so these two jars are the least expensive acrylic paint on our shelf by volume.

Which colours come in 250 ml?

Three, all at Rs. 900: Lemon Yellow 215, Yellow Mid 227 and Ultramarine 443. The Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar range differs slightly from the 500 ml, which carries Titanium White instead of Lemon Yellow.

What do the A-6250B and A-6500B codes mean?

Not the volume. On the Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar, Lemon Yellow and Ultramarine are A-6250B while Yellow Mid is A-6500B — same jar, same price. Both codes also appear on the 500 ml bottles, so order by size, not code.

Should I buy the 250 ml or the 500 ml?

It depends on the colour. The 500 ml saves about 3% per millilitre, but a Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar is the better buy for a colour you use steadily rather than heavily — a half-litre you dip into rarely will skin at the neck first.

What finish does it dry to?

Satin, printed on the label. The Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar sits between our semi-matte Mont Marte Signature sets and our gloss Keep Smiling tubes, which matters if you use more than one brand on a piece.

What is a jar good for?

Volume work. You pour from a Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar rather than squeezing a ribbon, which suits backdrops, murals, base coats and class projects where a 75 ml tube would go in one session.

How do I stop the cap sticking?

Wipe the nozzle before you close it. Dried acrylic on the thread is what stops a Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar sealing, and it is the one thing a tube handles better than a jar.

What surfaces can I paint on?

Canvas, paper, wood and fabric, all named on the label. The Marie's Acrylic Colour 250ml jar is water based, so brushes rinse in water while wet and are much harder to clean once the paint has dried.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Marie's Acrylic 250ml Jar in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch, including which colour you want. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
