The box calls it Shark Concert, a funny shark blowing ball, and the name is a fair summary. It is a friendly blue shark with a white belly, pink and yellow stars on its sides and a wide smiling mouth, and its party trick is balancing a ball on thin air.

Place one of the small balls over the hole on its back, switch it on, and a stream of air lifts the ball and holds it floating and spinning above the shark. Children who have never seen the effect before tend to stare, then try to catch the ball, then try to blow it off themselves.

At the same time the shark moves around the floor, plays music and flashes coloured lights, and when it bumps into an obstacle it changes direction on its own. That means the floating ball travels with it, which is harder to keep up than it sounds and makes a good game for two children.

Two balls are included, printed like little footballs, so one can be in play while the other waits. The tail is segmented, so it swishes as the shark moves.

It is battery operated and marked for ages three and up. The balls are small, so keep them away from babies and toddlers who put things in their mouths.
