The SUP Game Box brings back the 8-bit style games many parents grew up with, built into a pocket console. Switch it on and 400 classic 8-bit style games are already loaded: platform jumpers, racing, shooting, puzzles and fighting games, with no cartridges, downloads, accounts or internet connection involved.

It is a handheld first. A colour screen sits above a D-pad, A and B buttons, and Select and Start, and the whole console fits comfortably in a child's hands or a jacket pocket. The battery is rechargeable through the supplied USB cable, so it charges from the same phone charger or power bank already in the house.

It also plugs into a television. The AV cable in the box connects to the red, white and yellow inputs on a TV, so the same games move onto the big screen when cousins come over and everyone wants to watch.

There are two ways to buy it. The console-only pack is for one player at a time. The pack with a second controller adds a wired SUP gamepad, so two children can play two-player games together on the TV instead of fighting over one handset.

For parents, the appeal is that it is a closed box. There is no browser, no chat, no in-app purchases and no ads, just old-school games with simple controls that also make a gentle introduction to gaming for younger children.

The Safencia price starts at Rs. 2,150 for the console alone and is Rs. 2,450 with the second controller, with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. Colour, stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.
