Description

Two sense organs share this board, and only one of them is in the title most sellers give it. On the left, under a red banner reading taste distribution of tongue, sits a yellow foam tongue with its four taste zones blocked out in colour: a dark blue band across the back for bitterness, orange patches on both sides for sourness, blue strips below them for salty taste and a green tip for sweet taste. On the right, under a plain black heading reading structure of eye, is a full cut-through of the eyeball.

The eye half is the more detailed of the two. Working round it you get the cornea and the ciliary body at the front, the iris, pupil and lens stacked behind them, the green mass of the interior filling the centre, and the blind spot and optic nerve leaving at the back. Two outer coats are labelled as well. For a school buying one board to cover two chapters of the senses unit, that is unusual value at this price.

Both diagrams are made the same way: cut foam pieces of different colours laid on a brown-grey backing so each part stands slightly proud. The lens is a small separate piece you can catch with a fingernail, and the tongue's papillae are printed as fine black marks across the yellow. It photographs flat but it is not flat, which is the whole reason these boards last on a wall where a poster would not.

Two labels on the eye deserve a word before you buy. One outer layer is printed as omentum, which is not part of the eye at all — the omentum is in the abdomen — and a second reads chorioid, an old spelling of choroid. The shapes and the leader lines are right; it is the two words that slipped. Say the correct terms aloud once and the board teaches perfectly well.

The tongue diagram uses the familiar four-zone taste map that generations of school charts have printed. It is a clear way to introduce the four basic tastes to a young class, and it is what the chart shows, so it is what we describe. No adhesive is fitted to the back and no size appears anywhere on the board, so we claim neither — message us on WhatsApp if you need it measured first.

FAQs

Is this one chart or two?

One board with two diagrams on it. The Tongue and Eye Chart carries the taste distribution of the tongue on the left and a cut-through structure of the eye on the right.

What taste zones are marked on the tongue?

Four: bitterness as a dark blue band across the back, sourness in orange on both sides, salty taste in blue below that, and sweet taste in green at the tip.

Which parts of the eye are labelled?

The cornea, ciliary body, iris, pupil and lens at the front, the two outer coats around the outside, and the blind spot and optic nerve at the back of the Tongue and Eye Chart.

One eye label says omentum — is that a mistake?

Yes, and we would rather tell you than let you discover it. The omentum belongs to the abdomen, not the eye. A second label uses chorioid, an old spelling of choroid. The diagram itself is drawn correctly.

Is the diagram flat or raised?

Raised. Every coloured area of the Tongue and Eye Chart is a separate piece of cut foam laid on the brown-grey board, so the lens and the taste zones can be felt as well as seen.

What class does it suit?

The sense organs are taught from the primary years into middle school, so this board works from roughly Class 3 upwards and the eye section stays useful much later.

Does it stick to the wall on its own?

No adhesive is fitted to the back and nothing about mounting is printed on the board, so we claim nothing. Double-sided tape or glue dots are what most classrooms use.

What size is the Tongue and Eye Chart?

No dimension is printed on the board or the banner, so we will not quote one. Send us a WhatsApp message and we will measure the stock in hand before you order.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Tongue and Eye Chart in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
