UNO Minimalista is classic UNO with the clutter taken out. The rules are exactly the ones your family already plays, but the cards are redesigned in flat blocks of red, yellow, green and blue with a single large number or a simple line icon, and the black cards carry the wild and draw-four symbols in thin coloured outlines.

The look began as a fan concept by designer Warleson Oliveira, whose name is printed on the box, and was turned into a real edition because so many UNO players wanted it. That history is why it is bought as much as a gift or a collector's piece as a game.

The cleaner design is also easier to read across a table. Numbers are large and uncluttered, and the action cards are recognisable at a glance, which helps younger players and anyone who finds the busy classic art tiring after a long game.

It comes in a square black box with the UNO logo in red and yellow, a sturdier and more giftable package than the usual tuck box. Like classic UNO, it is for 2 to 10 players aged 7 and up.
