Seven birds, and every one arrives with its own red name plaque: DUCK, CROW, PEACOCK, HEN, SPARROW, PARROT and the pigeon. The peacock is the showpiece, its tail fanned into a full green and yellow display with eye-spots. The hen is white with a red comb and yellow legs, the parrot green with a red wing flash, the duck yellow-green with an orange bill, and the crow black with a white front.

What sets this apart from a printed bird chart is that the names are separate pieces. Take the seven plaques down, hand them out, and the class has to put each name back under the right bird. That single ability turns one purchase into a lesson you can run again every term, and it is the reason teachers pick cut-out sets over posters.

Six of the seven are birds a Pakistani child actually meets. Crows and sparrows are on every rooftop, hens and ducks in half the courtyards, and the parrot and peacock are the two every child already knows by name before school starts. There is nothing exotic here that needs explaining before the lesson can begin.

One printing slip you should know about: the seventh plaque reads PEGON rather than PIGEON. The bird itself is unmistakably a pigeon — grey body, black wing bars, pink feet — and the other six plaques are spelled correctly. We would rather you heard it from us than found it while a class was reading the wall.

The birds are drawn in flat, strong colours with the outlines moulded into the foam, and they are sized for a wall rather than a table. Because each is a separate piece, they can be spread across a whole classroom, perched along the top of a noticeboard, or grouped round a window where real birds land outside.

Nothing in the set has an adhesive backing and no dimension is printed on the birds, the plaques or the red banner, so we claim neither. Safencia sells it at Rs. 1,640 with Cash on Delivery all over Pakistan — WhatsApp us and we will confirm stock, measure a bird and give you your city's delivery charge before dispatch.
