2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12, each bought on its own rather than as a set you only half use.
The size 8 laid at an angle, showing the tan dome, the flattened bright ferrule and the black handle with its yellow band.
Description
This is the third head shape in the System 3 long handle family we stock. The round makes a line, the flat makes an edge, and the filbert makes a stroke that stops without leaving a mark where it stopped. Its tan synthetic filament is packed into a metal ferrule pressed flat, then cut in one arc from side to side so there is no square corner anywhere along the working edge.
A square-ended brush finishes every stroke with two hard points, and on skin, petals, cloth or cloud those points are work you have to undo afterwards. The dome has none to leave, so the next pass lies into the last one. Turned up on the tip it still draws a narrow tapered mark, so one brush covers the blocking-in and a good deal of the detail.
Six sizes are sold here, each on its own: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. That top size matters, because it is the only place in our System 3 long handle range where a size 12 exists at all — the round and the flat both stop at 10. If you paint large and want one brush that will cross a canvas in fewer passes, this is the shape that goes there.
The price ladder is worth reading twice. A size 2 filbert is Rs. 1,250 against Rs. 2,200 for the System 3 flat of the same number, and a size 10 is Rs. 2,650 against Rs. 4,015. The round runs Rs. 1,175 to Rs. 1,699 across the same span, so the filbert is close to round money for something much closer to flat coverage.
The handle is the same black lacquer with a bright yellow band that the rest of the range carries, printed DALER ROWNEY and system 3 with the size number beside it. Ours are photographed in sizes 8 and 2 so you can see both ends of the ladder.
One habit to avoid: the dome is the entire brush, so never leave it standing on its head in a water jar. Wash down to the base of the ferrule, pinch the dome back into shape while it is still damp, and dry it lying flat.
Prices run from Rs. 1,250 for size 2 up to Rs. 3,250 for size 12, listed size by size below. Tell us which size you want when you order. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

FAQs
What sizes does the System 3 filbert come in?
Six: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12, each sold separately. The System 3 Long Handle Filbert is the only shape in our long handle range that carries a size 12, priced Rs. 1,250 at size 2 rising to Rs. 3,250 at size 12.
Should I buy the filbert, the round or the flat?
Buy by the mark you need. The System 3 Long Handle Filbert is for shapes with no straight edge — skin, petals, cloth, foliage — while the round draws lines and the flat cuts boundaries and primes.
Why is the filbert cheaper than the flat of the same size?
That is simply how this range is priced here. A size 10 System 3 Long Handle Filbert is Rs. 2,650 against Rs. 4,015 for the flat, and a size 2 is Rs. 1,250 against Rs. 2,200, so the wider shape is not the dearer one.
Which size should I start with?
A 6 or an 8 if you are buying one. Those sizes of the System 3 Long Handle Filbert carry enough paint for blocking in a canvas while still turning up on the tip for smaller shapes.
Is it only for acrylic?
It suits acrylic best and oil well. System 3 is Daler-Rowney's acrylic range, so the filament in this System 3 Long Handle Filbert is firmer than a watercolour brush of the same width and will not go limp in thick paint.
Why is the handle so long?
For easel work. The long handle on the System 3 Long Handle Filbert keeps your hand back from the canvas so you can see the whole picture while you paint rather than only the patch under your fingers.
How do I stop the dome losing its shape?
Never leave it standing on its head in water. Wash a System 3 Long Handle Filbert down to the base of the ferrule, pinch the dome back while damp, and dry it flat — a few hours resting on its own weight sets a permanent bend.
Which sizes are in your photographs?
Sizes 8 and 2, chosen to show both ends of the ladder. Every size of the System 3 Long Handle Filbert listed here is stocked, and the size number is printed on the shaft beside the range name.
Can I pay cash on delivery for System 3 Long Handle Filbert in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Tell us which of the six sizes you want when you order. Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch, and delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities.
