Description
The lid shows a monster truck coming straight at you through a wall that has just shattered — oversized tyres in the foreground, blue lightning cutting across the black, and a yellow badge in the corner. It is a loud design and it is meant to be. This is the case a child points at across a shop.
Underneath the noise is a sensible build. The shell is pressed EVA, firm enough that a thumb dents it and it recovers, which is exactly the property that keeps 2B pencil points intact when the case ends up under a water bottle and a lunch box.
One zip loops around three sides so the lid folds right back and the base sits flat on a desk. Nothing has to be tipped out to find a rubber, which for a younger child means fewer things rolling off the edge of the desk during a lesson.
Black shells earn their keep over a school year. The scuffs, graphite dust and biro streaks that would age a white case in a fortnight simply do not read on this one, and the printed panel is sealed smooth so a damp cloth takes off anything that does land on it.
One honest note on fit: a hard case occupies the same rectangle in the schoolbag whether it holds two pens or twelve. If bag space is tight, a fabric pouch flexes and this will not. What you get in exchange is a case that still has straight pencils in March.

How tough is the Monster Truck Pencil Case really?
