Sakura Poster Color sits between school-grade colour and the dearest artist jars, and it has one advantage over its main rival that is easy to miss on a shelf. Gold and Silver cost Rs. 550 — exactly the same as Yellow or Black. On the Pentel range we also stock, Gold is Rs. 1,200 and Silver Rs. 750 against Rs. 675 for an ordinary shade. If metallic poster colour is part of your work, a Sakura Gold saves you Rs. 650 against a Pentel one.
The jars carry the Sakura wordmark with its blossom logo, POSTER COLOR in English above the katakana サクラポスターカラー, a CE mark and the shade name. What stands out in our photographs is the caps: every Sakura jar is capped in the shade it holds. Black cap on black, yellow on yellow, deep green on deep green. In a box of thirty jars that is the difference between finding a colour and unscrewing four wrong ones.
