This is a whole wall, not a chart. The tree is a broad green canopy on a thick brown trunk, and hanging in it are twenty-six red apples, each carrying one yellow capital letter. Around it go a smiling red-and-yellow sun, three blue clouds, three small red-and-purple birds and a run of green grass that sits along the bottom of the display. Put up together they turn a bare corner of a classroom into something a nursery class walks towards.

The letters are scattered through the canopy rather than running A to Z across it, and that is deliberate rather than careless. A child asked to find the letter M has to search the tree for it, which is a completely different exercise from reading a line of letters in order. Teachers use it as a hunt: name a letter, first hand up to point at it wins.

Every element is a separate foam cut-out, so the display is assembled rather than hung in one piece. That has a real advantage — the sun and clouds can go higher or lower to fit the wall you actually have, and the grass strip can be trimmed in position or left long. Two classrooms buying the same set end up with two different displays.

The apples are the part that gets touched. Children reach up and press them, and in a busy nursery a paper cut-out would be creased by the second week. Foam takes the handling, keeps its colour under a tube light, and wipes clean when a small hand arrives with paint on it.

Nothing in the set has adhesive on the back and no size is printed on any piece or on the red banner, so we describe neither. Double-sided tape or glue dots are what schools use, and the tree usually needs a few extra dots because of its width. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will measure the pieces in stock.
