Description

This is the most expensive calligraphy set we stock, and what it buys is nib sections rather than bare nibs. Instead of a steel nib pushed into a collar, each nib here comes as a complete front section with its own grip: you unscrew the one on the barrel and screw the next one on. No sharp point to press home, no ink on the fingers, and nothing to seat crooked.

The pack states seven pieces, and our photographs show what makes them up: the pen assembled and writing, two further nib sections beside it, and the caps and barrel cover that go with them. Every nib is a broad edge — a flat chisel rather than a point — which is the shape behind italic, Gothic, uncial and the Western hands built on a held angle.

Broad edge means the stroke width comes from the angle you hold, not from how hard you press. That is the same principle a bamboo qalam works on, and it is worth understanding before you spend at this level: if you have been writing Urdu khatati with a qalam, this pen will feel familiar in a way that a pointed dip nib never does.

The barrel is matt black, printed Calligraphy CRETACOLOR along its length, and the sections screw down flush so the assembled pen looks like one piece. Cretacolor is the Austrian house from Hinterbrühl near Vienna — the pack carries their line, Cretacolor, Vienna, A Pleasure for Pencils.

One thing our photographs do not show is any ink cartridge in the pack. Whether the pen takes a cartridge, a converter or is filled another way is not something we will guess at from a photograph — ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will open the stock in hand and tell you exactly what is inside.

Safencia lists the Cretacolor Artist Studio calligraphy set at Rs. 5,500 with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan. Message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will confirm stock for your city and the courier charge.

Why this product is worth considering

Nib Sections, Not Bare Nibs

Each nib arrives as a complete front section with its own grip that screws onto the barrel.

Nothing Seats Crooked

A screw-on section cannot sit skew the way a nib pushed into a worn collar can.

Broad-Edge Nibs

Flat chisel edges rather than points — the shape behind italic, Gothic and uncial hands.

FAQs

What makes this set worth more than a dip pen and nibs?

The Cretacolor nibs are complete screw-on sections rather than bare steel pushed into a collar. Nothing can seat crooked, the change stays clean, and the assembled pen behaves like one piece. Whether that is worth the difference depends on how much you write — a Rs. 525 dip set letters the same shapes.

Are these broad-edge or pointed nibs?

This Cretacolor set is broad edge — flat chisel tips rather than flexible points. Stroke width changes with the angle you hold, not with pressure, which is what italic, Gothic and uncial hands are built on. Copperplate and modern pointed-pen scripts need a flexible point instead.

Will this suit me if I write Urdu khatati with a qalam?

It should feel familiar. A bamboo qalam and the Cretacolor broad-edge nib work on the same principle — a flat edge held at a steady angle, with thick and thin coming from the turn of the hand. A pointed steel nib, which makes its thickness from pressure, is the one that feels alien after a qalam.

How many nib sections come with the set?

The pack states seven pieces in total, and our photographs show the assembled pen, further nib sections beside it and their caps. We have not counted the pieces out of a sealed pack ourselves, so ask us before ordering if the exact breakdown decides your purchase.

Does the Cretacolor set include ink?

Our photographs show no ink cartridge in the pack, and we will not guess whether the pen takes a cartridge, a converter or a bottle. Message us on WhatsApp and we will open the stock in hand and tell you exactly what is inside before you order.

How are the nib sections changed?

Unscrew the Cretacolor section fitted to the barrel and screw the next one on in its place. There is no sharp nib to press home and no ink on your fingers, which is the practical advantage this arrangement has over a push-fit dip pen.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Cretacolor Calligraphy Set 7pcs in Pakistan?
