This is the most expensive calligraphy set we stock, and what it buys is nib sections rather than bare nibs. Instead of a steel nib pushed into a collar, each nib here comes as a complete front section with its own grip: you unscrew the one on the barrel and screw the next one on. No sharp point to press home, no ink on the fingers, and nothing to seat crooked.
The pack states seven pieces, and our photographs show what makes them up: the pen assembled and writing, two further nib sections beside it, and the caps and barrel cover that go with them. Every nib is a broad edge — a flat chisel rather than a point — which is the shape behind italic, Gothic, uncial and the Western hands built on a held angle.
Broad edge means the stroke width comes from the angle you hold, not from how hard you press. That is the same principle a bamboo qalam works on, and it is worth understanding before you spend at this level: if you have been writing Urdu khatati with a qalam, this pen will feel familiar in a way that a pointed dip nib never does.

Are these broad-edge or pointed nibs?
This Cretacolor set is broad edge — flat chisel tips rather than flexible points. Stroke width changes with the angle you hold, not with pressure, which is what italic, Gothic and uncial hands are built on. Copperplate and modern pointed-pen scripts need a flexible point instead.
Will this suit me if I write Urdu khatati with a qalam?
