Buy Lead Pencils & HB Pencils Online in Pakistan
The pencil on a Pakistani school list is almost always an HB — dark enough to read, hard enough not to smudge across the page. Safencia stocks 31 writing pencils from Rs. 90: boxes of 12 from Staedtler, Dollar, Oro, Dux, Deer, Goldfish, Deli and Faber-Castell, 48-piece jars that schools and tuition centres buy by the jar, triangular barrels for small hands, eraser-tip pencils that save a second purchase, teachers' checking pencils, and mechanical and clutch pencils that never need sharpening.
Quantity is the number people misread when ordering online, so we state it plainly: a pack of 12 is a box, a jar is 22, 48 or another counted number, and where a product ships in both a box and a jar the listing says so and prices each option. We count the pieces ourselves rather than trusting the model number on the carton.
Which pencil is right for school, exams or the office?
"Lead" pencils contain no lead at all — the core is graphite mixed with clay, and the ratio is what the grade letters describe. More clay gives a harder, lighter H pencil; more graphite gives a softer, darker B. HB sits in the middle, which is why it is the school default.

For a school bag
One box of 12 HB pencils covers a term for most students. If the child is still learning to hold a pencil, a triangular barrel settles the three-finger grip more naturally than a round one.
For a school or tuition centre
Buy the 48-piece jars rather than four separate boxes — the per-pencil cost drops and the jar itself becomes the classroom pencil pot. Compare jars on the counted piece total, not on the model number.
For drawing instead of writing
An HB writing pencil gives you one tone. Shading needs a graded range, so switch to sketching and drawing pencils in 2B to 8B, or add colour pencils for coloured work.
Complete the pencil case with sharpeners, erasers and rulers and scales, or see the full range on the Stationery page.
Lead Pencil FAQs
Is there actually lead inside a lead pencil?
No. The core is graphite mixed with clay and baked — there has been no metallic lead in a writing pencil for centuries. The name stuck from a time when graphite was mistaken for a form of lead, and in Pakistan "lead pencil" is still the everyday phrase for an ordinary wooden writing pencil.
What does HB mean on a pencil?
It is the grade — how hard the core is and therefore how dark it writes. H stands for hard and B for black. Going up the H scale (H, 2H, 3H) makes lines lighter and finer; going up the B scale (B, 2B, 4B) makes them darker and softer. HB is the midpoint, which is why school lists ask for it.
What is the price of a lead pencil packet in Pakistan?
Safencia's writing pencils run from Rs. 90 to Rs. 2,175. Single pencils and small packs of 6 or 12 sit at the low end, 48-piece jars and premium branded boxes in the middle, and mechanical pencils at the top. Every listed price is shown on the product card.
Should I buy a pack of 12 or a 48-piece pencil jar?
A pack of 12 is a term's supply for one student. A jar of 48 is what schools, tuition centres and large families buy, because the cost per pencil drops and the jar doubles as a classroom pencil pot. Check the counted piece total on the listing — jars are sold in 22, 48 and other counts.
Are triangular pencils better for young children?
They are the shape most commonly recommended for children who are still learning to hold a pencil, because three flat sides guide the thumb and two fingers into position instead of letting the pencil roll. Older students usually go back to standard hexagonal barrels, which are cheaper and just as good once the grip is settled.
Which pencil should I use for an exam OMR answer sheet?
Follow the instruction printed on your own answer sheet — Pakistani examination boards and entry tests usually name the grade they want, most often HB or 2B, and some supply the pencil themselves. Take a sharpener and an eraser with you either way.
What is a checking pencil?
It is the pencil teachers use to mark and check papers, kept separate from the pencil students write with so corrections stand out on the page. Safencia lists them by pack, and the product photo shows the colour of the range you are ordering.
Is Cash on Delivery available for pencils across Pakistan?
