Solid graphite with no cedar casing, so nothing is sharpened away and nothing is paid for that ends up in the bin.
The stick at an angle shows its thickness against its length and the CRETACOLOR 49500 mark pressed into the flat.
Description
A short, thick stick of solid graphite, embossed CRETACOLOR 49500 along one flat, with no wooden casing anywhere on it. Eighteen millimetres across is roughly three graphite pencils' worth of lead side by side, and the whole of it draws — there is no barrel to sharpen away and nothing that has to be thrown out at the end.
Woodless is the point. A pencil gives you a few millimetres of lead at the tip and a stick of cedar you are paying for and discarding; a solid graphite stick gives you the same material as a block you can hold flat against the paper. That is what turns graphite from a line medium into a covering one.
Where it separates from charcoal is at the end of the drawing rather than the start. Graphite erases — properly, back to paper — so a tonal ground laid with the side of this stick can be lifted, corrected, softened or reworked as many times as you like. Charcoal buys depth and loses that. Anyone whose drawings evolve on the page rather than arriving finished will do more with graphite.
It also behaves differently under the hand. Graphite is cleaner than charcoal: it powders far less, transfers less onto the edge of a palm, and does not need a fixative nearly as urgently. On a long working day with a sketchbook on your knee that is not a small thing.
Three ways to hold it cover most of what it does. Held upright on a corner it draws a firm line. Laid flat on its side it puts down a wide even band in a single pass. Rocked slowly while dragging, it gives a tone that shifts from light to dark inside one stroke, which is how sky and distance are drawn without any blending at all.
It is a single stick at Rs. 525, and a thick woodless block lasts far longer than the price suggests, because none of it is casing and none of it is sharpened into a bin.

FAQs
What does woodless graphite mean?
That the whole stick is graphite with no wooden barrel around it. A Chunky Graphite Stick therefore draws on every surface of itself, and nothing is sharpened away and discarded.
How thick is the stick?
18 mm across, which is roughly three pencil leads side by side. That width is what lets a Chunky Graphite Stick lay a wide band of tone with its flat side in one pass.
How is graphite different from charcoal here?
Graphite erases back to clean paper and charcoal largely does not. A Chunky Graphite Stick suits work that gets corrected and reworked; charcoal suits work that needs a deeper black.
Can it draw a fine line as well as tone?
A firm line rather than a hairline. Held upright on a corner, a Chunky Graphite Stick gives a definite line; genuinely fine detail still wants a graphite pencil.
Is it messy to use?
Far less than charcoal. A Chunky Graphite Stick powders very little and transfers less onto the hand, though any tonal drawing benefits from a spare sheet under the drawing hand.
How many sticks come at this price?
One. A Chunky Graphite Stick is sold as a single piece, and a solid block of this thickness lasts a long time because none of its bulk is casing.
Does it need a fixative?
Less urgently than charcoal, but a heavy graphite ground still burnishes and transfers under a cover sheet. Spray or interleave a finished drawing before storing it.
What paper should be used with it?
Paper with a little tooth. On smooth paper a Chunky Graphite Stick lays a shiny even tone; on textured paper the same stroke breaks up and reads as grain, which is often what is wanted.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Chunky Graphite Stick in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
