The binder is modified so water thins it and washes brushes. It is not an acrylic in disguise.
The open set, with all ten silver tubes seated in the black tray and the printed carton behind them.
Description
A long red and white carton lettered Georgian with Water Mixable Oil beneath it, opening on a black tray of ten silver aluminium tubes. The box prints 10 x 37ml and 1.25 US fl oz, and repeats Water Mixable Oil Selection Set in six languages down the front panel - Set de Selection de Couleurs a l'Huile Diluables a l'Eau, Wassermischbare Oel-Auswahlset, Set de Seleccion de Oleos Miscibles en Agua and Set Selection Colori a Olio Diluibili in Acqua.
This is genuine oil colour, not an acrylic pretending to be one. The difference from ordinary oil is at the molecular level rather than in the handling: the binder has been modified so that water will thin it and wash it out of a brush. It still dries slowly over days, still holds a brush mark, still blends wet into wet the way oil does. What it does not do is require turpentine on the table.
That solves a specific and common problem - painting oil in a room you also live in, or in a house with children. Our traditional Keep Smiling and Sensa oil sets need a thinner and brush cleaning in spirit; this needs a jar of water. There is no white spirit smell and nothing solvent-soaked to dispose of.
Ten tubes at 37 ml each is 370 ml of paint, and at Rs. 13,160 that works out at Rs. 35.57 a millilitre or Rs. 1,316 a tube. It is a professional price and this is a professional set - Georgian is Daler-Rowney's artist oil line rather than a student one, and the tubes are studio size rather than the 12 ml student format.
Worth knowing before you commit: our Marabu GREEN Basic set also gives oil-like handling with water clean-up, at Rs. 11.90 a millilitre, which is about a third of the price here. It is a water-based alkyd rather than a water mixable oil - a different chemistry that dries harder and faster. If your reason for looking is purely the solvent, compare the two before deciding.
The named shades run across Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red Hue, Crimson Alizarin, Cerulean Blue Hue, French Ultramarine, Viridian Hue, Yellow Ochre and an earth brown - a mixing palette rather than a spread of ready shades. No brush is included with this set. We list it from 12 years up. The Safencia price is Rs. 13,160 with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

FAQs
Is water mixable oil the same as acrylic?
No. The Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set is genuine oil colour with a modified binder, so it still dries over days and blends wet into wet, where acrylic skins over in minutes.
Do I still need turpentine with it?
No, and that is the point of buying it. The Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set thins with water and brushes wash out in water, so no white spirit is needed on the table.
How much paint is in the set?
370 ml, as ten tubes of 37 ml each, printed on the carton front. That puts the Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set at Rs. 35.57 a millilitre and Rs. 1,316 a tube.
Is there a cheaper way to paint oil without solvent?
Yes, and we would rather say so. Our Marabu GREEN Basic water-based alkyd set is Rs. 11.90 a millilitre against Rs. 35.57 for the Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set, though it is a different chemistry that dries harder and faster.
Which colours are in the box?
The named shades include Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red Hue, Crimson Alizarin, Cerulean Blue Hue, French Ultramarine, Viridian Hue, Yellow Ochre and an earth brown. The Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set is a mixing palette rather than a spread of ready shades.
Does a brush come with it?
No. The Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set is ten tubes in a fitted black tray with nothing else, unlike some Daler-Rowney oil selection sets which pack a round brush in the lid.
How long does it take to dry?
Days rather than minutes, exactly like traditional oil. That slow drying is what lets the Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set be blended across a session and reworked the next morning.
What surface should I paint on?
Canvas, canvas board or another primed ground. The Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set is still an oil colour, so raw absorbent paper will eventually show the oil through the back.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Georgian Water Mixable Oil 10 Set in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
