Description
A short red and purple carton with the Daler-Rowney seal, printed 6 x 20ml, 0.68 US fl oz and Water Mixable Oil Starter Set in six languages. Six tubes sit in a moulded tray, and unusually for a small set every one carries both its shade name and its colour code on the label.
Those six are Titanium White 009, Cadmium Yellow Hue 620, Crimson Alizarin Hue 515, French Ultramarine 123, Viridian Hue 382 and Yellow Ochre 663. That is a deliberate starter palette: a white, a warm yellow, a cool red, a blue, a green and an earth. Everything else is mixed, which is exactly the discipline a set this size is meant to teach.
The point of water mixable oil is that it behaves as oil while cleaning up in water. It dries slowly over days, holds a brush mark and blends wet into wet, but no turpentine is needed on the table and brushes rinse under a tap. For anyone curious about oil painting in a room they also live in, this is the least committing way to find out.
Now the number you should see before deciding. At Rs. 6,800 for 120 ml this is Rs. 56.67 a millilitre and Rs. 1,133 a tube - the dearest oil colour per millilitre anywhere on our shelf. Small sets always carry a premium, but this one is steep, and we would rather show it than bury it.
The alternative inside the same range is our Georgian Water Mixable Oil set of ten 37 ml tubes at Rs. 13,160, which is Rs. 35.57 a millilitre. It costs about twice as much in total and gives more than three times the paint, so if you already know you want water mixable oil the ten-tube box is far better value. This set earns its place only as a trial.
Worth one more comparison: our Marabu GREEN Basic water-based alkyd set is Rs. 11.90 a millilitre and also cleans with water, though it is a different chemistry that dries harder and faster. We list this set from 12 years up. The Safencia price is Rs. 6,800 with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

FAQs
Which six colours are in the starter set?
Titanium White 009, Cadmium Yellow Hue 620, Crimson Alizarin Hue 515, French Ultramarine 123, Viridian Hue 382 and Yellow Ochre 663. Every tube in the Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set carries both its name and its code.
Is this good value compared with the larger set?
No, and it is worth knowing. The Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set is Rs. 56.67 a millilitre while our ten-tube 37 ml box of the same range is Rs. 35.57, so the larger box gives over three times the paint for about twice the money.
Then why buy the small set?
As a trial. The Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set lets you find out whether painting oil without solvent suits you before committing Rs. 13,160 to the ten-tube box.
Do I need turpentine with it?
No. The Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set thins with water and brushes wash out in water, which is the whole reason water mixable oil exists.
Is it real oil paint or an imitation?
Real oil, with a modified binder. The Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set still dries over days and still blends wet into wet, unlike acrylic which skins over within minutes.
How much paint is in the box?
120 ml, as six tubes of 20 ml each, printed 6 x 20ml and 0.68 US fl oz on the carton. That puts the Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set at Rs. 1,133 a tube.
Is there a cheaper way to paint without solvent?
Yes. Our Marabu GREEN Basic water-based alkyd set is Rs. 11.90 a millilitre against Rs. 56.67 for the Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set, though it is a different chemistry that dries harder and faster.
What surface should I use?
Canvas, canvas board or another primed ground. The Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set is still an oil colour, so raw paper will show the oil through in time.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Georgian Water Mixable Starter Set in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
