Description

XL means what it says. These are large brushes — the size 70 head is wide enough to cross a small canvas in three passes — and they exist because a big painting worked with a small brush never looks like a big painting. It looks like a small painting that took a long time.

The reason is edges. Every stroke leaves a boundary where it stops, and the more strokes an area takes, the more boundaries there are to blend away. A wide flat does the same area in a fraction of the passes, so there is simply less to hide.

Four sizes are offered — 30, 50, 60 and 70 — each sold on its own. The 30 is the sensible starting point for A3 and canvas boards; the 60 and 70 are for large stretched canvases, backgrounds, gesso priming and any surface preparation where speed and evenness matter more than detail.

The head is a synthetic filament, springy enough to snap back to its square edge instead of staying splayed after a heavy stroke. On a brush this wide that matters more than on a small one — a large head that loses its edge stops cutting a clean line along the top of a horizon or the side of a shape.

Each handle is white pearl-finish, printed GRADUATE XL with DALER ROWNEY and the word Flat, and the size number set above the range name. The ferrule is a deep black collar pressed flat across the full width of the head.

Prices are Rs. 5,500 for size 30, Rs. 6,500 for size 50, Rs. 7,500 for size 60 and Rs. 9,750 for size 70. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, and stock, city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

Why this product is worth considering

Built for Big Surfaces

The size 70 head crosses a small canvas in a few passes. Large paintings need large brushes or they read as small paintings that took longer.

Fewer Strokes, Fewer Edges

Every stroke leaves a boundary to blend. A wide flat covers the same area in far fewer passes, so there is less to hide.

Four Large Sizes

30 for A3 and canvas boards, 50 for general large work, 60 and 70 for stretched canvases and priming. Each priced separately.

Snaps Back Square

Springy synthetic filament returns to its square edge after a heavy stroke instead of staying splayed, which keeps long edges clean.

Good for Gesso and Priming

Surface preparation is exactly the job where an even coat matters and detail does not, which is what a wide flat is for.

FAQs

What sizes does the Graduate XL flat come in?

Four: 30, 50, 60 and 70. Each Graduate XL flat is sold on its own, priced at Rs. 5,500, Rs. 6,500, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 9,750 respectively.

Which size should I buy for a canvas?

A size 30 Graduate XL flat for A3 work and canvas boards, a 50 for general large painting, and a 60 or 70 for stretched canvases and priming whole surfaces.

Why not just use a smaller brush on a large canvas?

Because every stroke leaves an edge where it stops, and a small brush leaves many more of them to blend away. The Graduate XL flat covers the same area in far fewer passes, so the finish is more even.

Can it be used for gesso and priming?

Yes, and it is one of the best uses for it. Priming needs an even coat rather than detail, which is exactly what a wide flat delivers quickly.

Is the Graduate XL flat suitable for acrylic and oil?

The synthetic filament handles both. With acrylic, rinse the brush before it starts to set — a head this wide holds far more paint out of sight at the base than a small brush does.

How do I wash a brush this large?

Rinse the Graduate XL flat under running water working from the ferrule outwards, squeeze the head gently along its width, press it square while damp and lay it flat to dry. Never stand it on its head.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Graduate XL Flat Brush in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Send the size you need on WhatsApp and the order is confirmed before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
