A round is the brush that does more than one thing. Press it and you get its full width; lift onto the point and you get a line. On a canvas that means outlining a shape and filling it without putting the brush down, which is why a round is usually the first brush an acrylic painter buys and the last one they replace.

This is the long-handled version. The extra length is not a styling choice — it is what lets you hold the brush further back and paint at arm's length from an easel, keeping the whole canvas in view instead of only the patch under your hand.

System 3 is Daler-Rowney's acrylic range, and the filament here is firmer than a watercolour round for a reason. Acrylic is thicker and stickier; a soft head loads up, goes limp and starts dragging rather than laying colour. A firmer round keeps its point through a session of it.

Six sizes are offered — 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 — each sold on its own. The 0 and 2 are for detail and signatures, the 4 and 6 cover most of the painting, and the 8 and 10 carry enough paint for larger shapes without swapping to a flat.

Each handle is black with a bright yellow band at the ferrule, printed DALER ROWNEY with system3 and the word Round, and the size number set alongside. The ferrule is a bright metal collar drawn round to hold the point.
