This one is worth looking at properly before you order, because it is not what most people picture. Daler-Rowney Simply acrylic here comes as ten round screw-lid pots, stacked one on top of another inside a clear plastic tube with a hanging tab — not as squeeze tubes in a box. The label prints 10x, 18ml and 0.6 fl.oz down the side, with the Simply mark and ACRYLIC in four languages.

Pots and tubes suit different habits. A pot lets you dip a brush straight in, which is faster for flat colour, lettering, model work and anything where you are not mixing on a palette. A tube gives you a controlled squeeze onto a palette and seals better against drying out. Neither is better; the pot format is simply the one people are surprised by when the parcel arrives, so it is on this page rather than buried.

Ten pots of 18 ml is 180 ml of paint. At Rs. 2,565 that is Rs. 256.50 a pot and Rs. 14.25 a millilitre, which puts it second-cheapest among the Daler-Rowney acrylics we stock. Only our Simply pack of 6 in large 75 ml tubes beats it, at Rs. 12.89. The small-tube Simply cartons are considerably dearer at Rs. 18.40 to Rs. 20.83, so if you are choosing between the compact Simply formats, this stack is the better-priced one.

The ten colours are visible through the clear cylinder in the photographs — white, yellow, orange, red, two blues and a green among them — but the pots face inwards, so their printed names cannot be read from any of the three photographs we have. We have not guessed at a colour list. What is certain is the count, the pot size and the format.

The stack format also travels well. It fits a pencil case sideways, the lids seal individually, and losing one pot does not compromise the rest — which is why this packaging turns up in school lists and craft kits more than in studios.
