Description
This is the real thing, and the distinction matters more than any other fact on this page. The tube is printed Glow in the Dark and, underneath, Phosphorescent — repeated as Nachleuchtfarbe in German. Phosphorescent means the pigment stores light and releases it slowly, so a painted surface genuinely glows in an unlit room. That is different from fluorescent or neon paint, which only blazes while a black light is shining on it and goes dead the moment the lamp is switched off.

The tube is a single 75 ml Simply tube carrying colour code 598 with two lightfastness stars printed beside it. Out of the tube the paint is a pale cream-green, which is what glow pigment looks like in daylight — the glow itself only appears after the surface has been charged under a lamp or in sunlight and the room goes dark. That is normal, and it is worth knowing before you open it, because the daylight colour disappoints people who expect the packet to look luminous.
At Rs. 1,450 for 75 ml, this works out to Rs. 19.33 a millilitre. It works on paper, primed canvas, board, wood and craft surfaces, and Daler-Rowney's own listing notes it can be mixed with other acrylic colours — though every part of the glow pigment you dilute with ordinary paint is glow you lose, so it works best applied neat over a white or pale ground where the stored light has something to bounce off.
