Four erasers, four different jobs — and unlike most sets, Mont Marte labels each one so you know which is which. The pack holds a Super Soft, a Hard, a Medium and a Black eraser, and every piece is printed with its own grade.

The grades matter more than they sound. The Hard cuts through dense graphite and cleans up a crisp edge. The Medium handles everyday pencil work. The Super Soft lightens shading without scuffing the paper. And the Black is there for a practical reason: it does not show dirt, so it stays usable long after a white eraser would look filthy in charcoal.

Mont Marte states the purpose on the front of the card — clean removal of charcoal and graphite — and adds a care note on the back that is worth following. Keep the erasers clean, because a loaded eraser smears rather than lifts.

The back also carries the details most packs leave out. The set is designed in Australia and made in China under licence, the product code MEAE0005 sits beside the barcode, and Mont Marte prints that the set conforms to ASTM D-4236, the American standard for labelling art materials.

One thing to check before buying this for a child: the pack carries a choking-hazard warning and is marked not suitable for children under three years. These are small firm pieces made for a drawing desk rather than a young child's pencil case.
