Pelikan's AL 20 is the plain white pencil eraser done properly: one long block in a blue paper sleeve, printed Für Bleistift · For pencil in German and English, with the pelican mark on the front.
The sleeve carries a badge most school erasers do not — latex- and phthalate-free. Pelikan prints it on the individual sleeve and again on the 20-piece trade box, so it is the manufacturer's own statement rather than a shop's claim. For a school where erasers pass through a lot of small hands, that is worth knowing.
It is a firm white block in the traditional shape, long enough to hold comfortably and to keep offering a fresh corner as each end wears round. The paper sleeve slides down as the eraser shortens, which keeps fingers off the working end and stops the block snapping in a pencil case.
