The side panel prints the breakdown in three languages, so the twelve is a graded set rather than a bag of one width.
The Signature box printed Willow Charcoal and 12 pc, with a handful of the sticks laid out in front of it.
Description
A slim black and teal box from the Mont Marte Signature range, printed Willow Charcoal with the French Fusain de Saule and the Spanish Carboncillo de Sauce beneath it, and 12 pc across the foot. The side panel breaks that twelve down exactly: 4 x Small, 4 x Medium and 4 x Large, each printed in the same three languages.
Three thicknesses in one box is what separates this from a bag of sticks, because willow charcoal is chosen by width rather than by grade. A large stick laid on its side sweeps a whole background in one pass. A medium draws the figure. A small one, used on its end, gets into the places where a drawing actually becomes a drawing. Working from large to small is the standard way a charcoal study is built, and a box that gives you four of each lets you do it without stopping to buy more.
Willow is the softest, palest charcoal there is — burnt twig, nothing added. It is grey rather than black, and it sits so loosely on the paper that a cloth wipes it away almost completely. That sounds like a weakness until you have used it: it means the whole opening stage of a drawing can be wrong, wiped and redone with no ghost left on the sheet, which is exactly why it is what art schools start people on.
It also breaks, and it is supposed to. Natural charcoal is a twig; there is no binder holding it together, so a stick snaps under pressure and a broken end is a fresh sharp edge rather than a loss. The habit to build is a light hand and a flat box — a hard grip on a large stick will snap it every time.
Against the willow sticks already on this site the arithmetic is close and the difference is grading. Our 6-piece willow box is Rs. 250, about Rs. 42 a stick; this Mont Marte 12-piece is Rs. 575, about Rs. 48. The extra six rupees a stick buys the three graded widths and a Mont Marte box that holds them apart, rather than more of one size.
Rs. 575 for the twelve. A finished willow drawing is barely attached to the paper, so a fixative spray is not optional if the work will be moved — the ones stocked here are what stops a portfolio turning a study into a grey smear.

FAQs
How are the twelve sticks divided?
Four small, four medium and four large, printed on the side panel of the Signature Willow Charcoal box in English, French and Spanish.
Why does willow charcoal wipe off so easily?
Because it is burnt twig with no binder in it. Signature Willow Charcoal sits loosely on the paper, which is exactly what lets a wrong opening stage be wiped and redone.
Which size do I use first?
The large, on its side. A charcoal study is built from large to small — a large stick blocks in the whole shape before a medium or small one refines it.
Is it meant to break?
It breaks easily and that is normal for natural charcoal. A snapped Signature Willow Charcoal stick gives a fresh sharp edge, so the loss is smaller than it looks.
How does it compare with the 6-piece willow box you sell?
Grading. Our 6-piece box is Rs. 250, about Rs. 42 a stick; the 12-piece Signature Willow Charcoal is Rs. 575, about Rs. 48, and gives three separate widths instead of one.
Does the drawing need fixing?
Yes, if it will be moved. Willow charcoal is barely attached to the paper, so a finished study needs a fixative spray before it goes into a portfolio.
What paper suits it?
Paper with tooth. On a smooth sheet willow has nothing to grip and the tone slides about under the hand instead of settling.
Is this the same as compressed charcoal?
No. Compressed charcoal is powder and binder — much blacker, and it grips so hard it cannot be wiped off. Willow is the soft, forgiving one that goes down first.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Signature Willow Charcoal in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
