Description

The heavy end of the Pen-touch range. A thicker metal-bodied barrel, a ribbed screw collar behind the nib, and a chisel 5.0 mm across the flat, printed CalliGrapher with the colour named as SILVER / ARGENT / PLATA or GOLD / OR / ORO down the side.

Nib width is not a detail here, it is the entire difference between this pen and the slim 1.8 mm. A 1.8 writes a line of text across a card. A 5.0 writes a word. Headings, a name board for a stall, a title across the top of a mounted project, a banner for a school event, the front of a dark gift bag, a chalkboard-style menu — these are jobs where the letter has to read from the back of a room, and a fine chisel simply cannot make one.

There is a real reason to want the broad size specifically for lettering rather than just for scale. The whole beauty of chisel calligraphy is the contrast between a thick downstroke and a hairline cross-stroke, and that contrast is set by the width of the flat. At 1.8 mm it is visible; at 5.0 mm it is dramatic. Letters that look merely tidy in the small size look designed in the large one.

The trade is honest and predictable: a broad nib puts down several times the paint per letter, so a 5.0 empties faster than a 1.8 doing the same amount of work, and it needs a surface with room to work on. It is the wrong pen for a place card and the right one for the board above the table.

The pens are only Rs. 25 apart — Rs. 560 for the 1.8 mm and Rs. 585 for this one — so the choice is genuinely about the nib and never about the budget. Anyone lettering regularly ends up with both, using the broad for the heading and the fine for everything under it.

Rs. 585, in gold, silver, black or white. Shake it capped and prime the nib on scrap before the first letter. Tell us the colour on WhatsApp when you order, and Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan.

Why this product is worth considering

5.0 mm Across the Flat

A broad chisel that writes a word where the fine one writes a line — the size for headings and boards.

Contrast You Can See

Thick-to-thin contrast is set by nib width. At 5.0 mm the difference between a downstroke and a cross-stroke is dramatic.

Heavier Barrel, Screw Collar

A thicker metal-bodied pen with a ribbed collar behind the nib, built around a larger paint reservoir than the slim size.

Four Colours

Gold, silver, black and white, all Rs. 585 — the two metallics that most heading work needs cost the same as the rest.

Rs. 25 From the Fine Size

The 1.8 mm is Rs. 560, so choosing between them is a decision about the nib rather than about the price.

Paint, So Any Surface

Opaque colour on card, board, glass, plastic and painted wood — surfaces an ink pen cannot letter on at all.

FAQs

How big is the 5.0 mm nib in practice?

Broad enough to write a word rather than a line. The Pen-touch Calligrapher 5.0 is the size used for headings, name boards and titles that must read across a room.

Should I buy the 5.0 or the 1.8?

The 5.0 for headings and boards, the 1.8 for cards, envelopes and place names. At Rs. 585 against Rs. 560 the Pen-touch Calligrapher sizes are close enough that the nib decides.

Does it run out faster?

Yes, and that is worth expecting. A broad nib lays several times the paint per letter, so a Pen-touch Calligrapher 5.0 empties sooner than the fine size doing the same work.

Which colours can I order?

Gold, silver, black and white, all at Rs. 585. Our photographs show the gold and silver, which are the two most used for heading work.

Will it write on a dark board?

Yes. The paint is opaque, so a Pen-touch Calligrapher 5.0 in white or gold reads on black board, dark card and painted wood.

Why does the nib look wet when new?

It has been primed. If a new pen looks dry instead, shake it capped and press the nib down on scrap until the paint reaches the tip.

Is the barrel metal?

It is a heavier metal-bodied barrel with a ribbed screw collar behind the nib, noticeably chunkier in the hand than the slim 1.8 mm pen.

Can it be used for a banner or a stall board?

That is what the width is for. On card, board or painted wood the Pen-touch Calligrapher 5.0 gives letters that hold up from a distance.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Pen-touch Calligrapher 5.0 in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
