Description

Eleven vehicles lift out of this blue wooden board, and beside every single recess the board prints what the vehicle is called: Crane, Truck, Ambulance, Bus, Police Car, Motorcycle, Plane, Bike, Fire Engine, Taxi and Ship. That printed word is the whole idea. A child who already shouts at every fire engine that goes past the gate gets a name to attach to what they are pointing at, in English, without an adult having to sit alongside.

The pieces are flat and thick, cut to the outline of each vehicle, and they lift straight out of shallow recesses. There are no knobs or pegs on top. That makes them easier to line up on a table and drive around by hand than a peg puzzle, and it also means a younger toddler has to pinch rather than grip, which is the harder and more useful movement.

The artwork is worth a look before you buy, because it is what children actually talk about: the crane has a driver leaning out of the cab, the bus has three passengers at the windows, the ambulance carries a red cross and a man in the door, and the ship has a smiling face on the hull. The plane, motorcycle and fire engine are drawn in the same flat cartoon style, so the set hangs together rather than looking like a mixed bag.

Be clear about what this board is and is not. It names eleven vehicles. It does not print traffic signs, signals, zebra crossings or road rules anywhere — despite the title across the top, there is no red-amber-green on it. If you want a child to learn signals, this is the vehicle-vocabulary half of that job and you will need something else for the rest.

It works from about two and a half, when the pieces are still just things to take out and put back, up to five or six, when a child can read the word next to the hole. Parents of school-age children mostly use it for English naming practice and then for sorting games — which of these carries people, which one helps in an emergency, which one does not touch the road at all.

Why this product is worth considering

Every Vehicle Named in English

Crane, Truck, Ambulance, Bus, Police Car, Motorcycle, Plane, Bike, Fire Engine, Taxi and Ship — each printed beside its own recess.

Eleven Lift-Out Pieces

Eleven separate vehicles, each cut to its own outline, so no two pieces are interchangeable and a wrong one will not drop in.

Flat Pieces, No Knobs

Nothing sticks up from the pieces, so they lie flat to be pushed around a table like toy cars once they are out of the board.

Vocabulary, Not Traffic Signals

The board names vehicles. It carries no signs, signals or road markings, so buy it for English naming rather than for road rules.

FAQs

Which eleven vehicles are on this board?

Crane, Truck, Ambulance, Bus, Police Car, Motorcycle, Plane, Bike, Fire Engine, Taxi and Ship. Each name is printed on the board beside the piece it belongs to.

Does the board teach traffic signs and signals?

No. Despite the heading printed across the top, there are no traffic signs, signals or road markings anywhere on this board. It teaches the names of eleven vehicles, and nothing beyond that.

Are the names printed in English or Urdu?

English only, in lower case beside each recess. Many parents use the printed word as their own prompt and say the Urdu name alongside it.

Do the pieces have knobs to hold?

No, the pieces are flat with no pegs on top, so a child pinches them out rather than gripping a knob. If your child needs a knob to grip, a peg-style vehicle board is the better choice.

What is the youngest age this suits?

Around two and a half, when a child can pinch a piece out and drop it back in the right hole. The printed names only start mattering later, at four or five.

Can the pieces be used away from the board?

Yes. Because they are flat-bottomed and cut to shape, children push them around a table or line them up in traffic jams, then match them back into the board afterwards.

How does the board arrive?

It arrives with the pieces already in place and the whole board sealed in a clear factory wrap, which is how it is shown in one of the photographs above.

Is any age or brand printed on it?

No age marking, maker's name or size is printed anywhere on this board. We suggest three years and up, with an adult nearby for younger children, since the bike and taxi pieces are small.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Traffic Awareness Board in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
