Description

A squat glass bottle with a black rubber pipette cap, from the Daler-Rowney FW range. Three colours are stocked and all three are photographed here with their own swatch: White, Gold (Imit) and Silver (Imit). The word Imit is printed on the label by the manufacturer and means imitation — these are metallic-looking pigments, not powdered precious metal, and the page says so rather than leaving you to find out.

FW Acrylic Ink is a pigmented acrylic, which puts it in a different class from writing ink or dye-based colour. Once dry it is a thin acrylic film, so a second layer can be worked straight over the first without lifting it, and the colour underneath stays where it was put. That is what makes it the ink for layered work: a wash, then line over the top, then a highlight over that.

The pipette is a working part rather than packaging. It lifts a measured few drops out without a brush ever going into the bottle, which is how a bottle of ink stays clean for years instead of picking up colour from the last thing you dipped. Drops go into a palette well, into water for a wash, or into an airbrush cup.

White and the two metallics are chosen deliberately in this range, because they do the job that transparent colour cannot: they cover. White FW over a dark wash gives a highlight that actually reads, which no watercolour white manages, and the metallics sit on top of black or deep colour with a genuine sheen. Card makers, calligraphers and illustrators buy these three long before they buy the transparent shades.

They go on with a brush, a dip nib, a ruling pen or an airbrush. Keep the metallics stirred, since metallic pigment is heavier than the medium and settles towards the bottom between sessions, and rinse the nib or brush immediately — this is acrylic, and once it dries in a ferrule or a nib slit it is there for good.

The Safencia price is Rs. 2,500 for a 29.5 ml bottle in any of the three colours. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

Why this product is worth considering

Pipette Cap

Draws out a few drops at a time so no brush ever enters the bottle and the ink stays uncontaminated from first use to last.

Layers Without Lifting

It dries as an acrylic film, so a second pass goes straight over the first instead of disturbing the colour underneath.

Opaque Where It Matters

White and the two metallics cover dark ground, which is exactly what transparent watercolour and dye inks cannot do.

FAQs

Which colours of FW Acrylic Ink are stocked?

Three: White, Gold (Imit) and Silver (Imit). All three FW Acrylic Ink bottles are photographed on this page beside a swatch of the dried colour.

Does the gold ink contain real gold?

No. The FW Acrylic Ink label prints Imit next to Gold and Silver, which is the manufacturer's own abbreviation for imitation. The pigment gives a metallic look, not a precious-metal content.

How is acrylic ink different from ordinary drawing ink?

FW Acrylic Ink is pigment in an acrylic medium, so it dries to a water-resistant film that can be painted over. Dye-based drawing inks stay softer and lift or bleed when a second wet layer goes on top.

What is the pipette for?

Lifting a few drops out of the bottle without dipping anything into it. It keeps the FW Acrylic Ink free of contamination and lets you dose a palette well, a water jar or an airbrush cup accurately.

Can it be used in an airbrush?

Yes, and it is thin enough to flow. Strain or stir it first, especially the metallics, and flush the airbrush immediately afterwards because FW Acrylic Ink dries hard inside a needle and nozzle.

Why do the metallic inks need stirring?

Metallic pigment is heavier than the medium carrying it and settles towards the bottom between sessions. Roll or stir the FW Acrylic Ink bottle gently before use so the sheen is even across the stroke.

How do I clean a brush or nib after using it?

Rinse immediately in water. FW Acrylic Ink is acrylic, so once it dries inside a ferrule or in the slit of a nib it will not come out again and the tool is finished.

Will white acrylic ink show on black paper?

Yes, that is one of the main reasons people buy it. White FW Acrylic Ink is opaque enough to sit on black card and dark washes where a watercolour white would disappear.

Can I pay cash on delivery for FW Acrylic Ink in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Tell us which of the three colours you want when you order. Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch, and delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities.
