Long hair carries enough paint to cross the whole band in one pass, which is what stops the streak a second pass leaves behind.
The Daler-Rowney Graduate one stroke brush at full length, with the wide flat head and the 3/4 size mark on the handle.
Description
A one stroke brush is a flat with unusually long hair, and the name describes what it is for: laying a complete band of colour in one pass, edge to edge, without going back over it. Going back is what ruins a flat area — the second pass drags at paint that has already begun to set and leaves a streak the first pass never had.
The long hair is what makes that possible. A short flat runs out of paint partway across; this one carries enough to finish the stroke. At 3/4 wide it covers a useful band — wide enough for a letter stroke, a border, or the side of a shape, narrow enough to stay controllable in one hand.
It is the traditional lettering brush. Painted signs, chart headings and hand-lettered banners are built from strokes of a single width laid down cleanly and left alone, and this is the shape that does it. Turn it on its edge and the same brush gives you a thin line for the stems and serifs.
Decorative painters know it for double loading — two colours picked up across the width of the head at once, so a single stroke lays down a blend that would otherwise take blending on the surface. That trick needs the long hair to hold both colours without them muddying at the ferrule.
It comes from Daler-Rowney's Graduate range, with a white pearl-finish handle and black ferrule, printed GRADUATE with DALER ROWNEY and the words One Stroke, with the size marked 3/4.

FAQs
What is a one stroke brush used for?
Laying a full band of colour in a single pass — lettering strokes, borders and the flat sides of shapes. The long hair carries enough paint to finish the stroke without going back over it.
Why does going back over a stroke matter?
The second pass drags at paint that has already started to set, and leaves a streak the first pass did not have. A brush that finishes the stroke in one go avoids the problem instead of correcting it.
How is it different from an ordinary flat brush?
Hair length. An ordinary flat has shorter hair and runs dry partway across a wide stroke. A one stroke holds enough paint to cross the whole width, which is the entire reason for the shape.
Can it draw thin lines too?
Yes. Turned onto its narrow edge it gives a fine straight line, which is how signwriters do the stems and serifs of a letter without swapping brushes.
What is double loading?
Picking up two colours side by side across the width of the head, so one stroke lays down a graded blend. It is a standard decorative technique and this shape is built for it.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse the full length of the hair before the paint sets, then press the head flat between your fingers while damp so the square edge stays crisp. Long hair holds paint deep down, so rinse longer than you would a short flat.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Daler-Rowney One Stroke 3/4 in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
