An angle shader is a flat brush cut on a slant, and that slant solves a problem every painter meets: getting colour tight into a corner without going over the line. The long point reaches into the angle while the wide side stays back on the flat, so one press puts paint exactly up to an edge and nowhere past it.

Decorative painters use it for shading a petal from its base outward — press with the long point at the deep edge and the colour fades as the head lifts. Model painters use it for panel edges. Anyone painting a wall mural or a chart border uses it for cutting in, which is the same job on a bigger surface.

It is also the easiest brush to control when two colours meet. A straight flat gives you a hard line the full width of the head; the angle lets you start narrow, so a mistake is a small mistake. That makes it a sensible second flat for anyone who owns one already.

Two widths are offered — 1/4 and 1/2 — each sold on its own. The 1/4 suits detail corners, lettering serifs and small floral work. The 1/2 covers more ground per stroke and is the better choice for shading larger shapes and cutting in along longer edges.
