A roller leaves no brush marks. That is the whole reason to own one: a brush drags bristle lines through wet paint no matter how carefully it is loaded, and on a flat area those lines are the first thing anyone notices. A foam roller lays the colour down and lifts away, leaving an even film with nothing to blend out.

This set has three widths so the tool can match the job. The 6cm roller covers a chart background or a canvas base coat in a few passes. The 4cm is the general-purpose one, wide enough to be quick but still controllable inside a border. The 2.5cm fits into narrow strips, letter blocks and the edges the big one cannot reach without going over the line.

The measured sizes are printed on the manufacturer's own diagram: the largest is 18.5cm long overall with a 6cm roller, the middle one 18cm with a 4cm roller, and the smallest 15cm with a 2.5cm roller. All three have a hanging hole in the handle end.

Foam behaves differently from a nap roller and it is worth knowing before the first pass. It holds less paint, so load it more often; it also releases paint quickly at the start of a stroke, so begin the stroke slightly inside the area and roll outwards to avoid a heavy line where you set down.

Beyond painting, these are the standard tool for pressing down vinyl, applying glue evenly on card and craft work, and rolling ink for simple printing. The narrow one doubles as a burnishing roller for stickers and transfers.
