This penguin dresses like it is on its way to a dance battle: a yellow cap turned sideways, black sunglasses pushed up on top, a blue hoodie printed Discover, and chunky orange sneakers with light-up soles.

Switch it on and it dances. It flaps its blue flippers, kicks one leg out and then the other, and its sneakers glow in rainbow colours with every step, while music plays and a light glows through the front of its hoodie. The box calls it a sound and light electric toy, and that sums it up.

It is a toy that makes a room laugh. Toddlers try to copy the leg kicks, older children put on a song and challenge it to a dance-off, and it makes a cheerful small gift that does more than sit on a shelf.
