Jumbo is the whole product, and it is worth understanding why before buying for a small child. A two or three year old does not hold a crayon between finger and thumb — the hand closes round it in a fist, because the fine muscles that make a pencil grip possible have not developed yet. A standard crayon in a fist snaps within minutes. A jumbo crayon is thick enough to survive that grip, which is the difference between a child who colours and a child who is repeatedly handed a broken stub.
