Six brushes in one set from Keep Smiling, printed "Artist Brush" along a pale mint handle with a gold ferrule on every size. The shapes cover the basics an acrylic or gouache painter reaches for most: a fan brush for blending and texture, flats in a couple of widths for laying and cutting colour, a round for detail and fill, and a fine liner for thin continuous lines.

A fan blends and dry-brushes texture that no other shape gives cleanly; a flat lays flat colour and, turned on its edge, cuts a straight line; a round holds a point for both outlining and filling; a liner draws a long thin line that crosses a page without a join. Having all four shapes in one set covers most of a beginner's acrylic or gouache painting without buying brushes one at a time.

Our photographs show the six brushes with size numbers printed on the handles, but the numbers are not fully consistent between photographs, so we do not quote a size-by-size list. What is consistent and shown clearly is the set of four shapes — fan, flat, round, liner — with the flat brush appearing in more than one width.

It is sold as one set of six, in the bristle colour and gold ferrule finish shown. No bristle material (synthetic or natural) is printed on the handles in our photographs, so we do not claim one.
