A moulded nozzle of fixed bore, so every tube of a type draws the same line - no snipping and hoping.
The purple-labelled silk outliner tubes together, several uncapped to show the fitted fine nozzle on each.
Description
A pen-format tube with a fitted fine nozzle and a black ribbed screw cap, made by Marabu in Germany. It comes in two label versions: the purple one is printed Outliner for Silk, Contours pour soie, Contouren op zijde, Contorni per seta, and the grey one is Contours for universal - the same applicator for surfaces other than silk.
The finishes are named on the cap end so a tube can be identified in a drawer without opening it: Gold, Copper, Pearl, Silver, Black and Universal. That matters more than it sounds. A metallic outline drawn today and continued next month has to match, and a named factory finish repeats where a hand-mixed one does not.
Now the honest part, because this is the dearest outliner we sell by a wide margin. At Rs. 1,550 it sits against our Seta Gutta Cone Premium at Rs. 220, our Wamiq Hobby Glass Relief Paint Liner at Rs. 235 and our Wamiq Gutta Water Based Contour Lining Medium at Rs. 295. It costs about seven times the cone.
What the money buys is the nozzle and the cap. A gutta cone is a sealed cone whose tip you snip yourself - one cut, no second chance, and the line width you get is the line width you live with. This has a moulded nozzle of a fixed bore, so every tube of the same type draws the same line, and the screw cap reseals it so a half-used tube is still usable next season rather than a dried plug.
For a first dupatta, a school project or a one-off cushion, take the cone at Rs. 220 and keep the difference - it lays down the same kind of resist line. Choose this when you are outlining repeatedly, when several pieces have to match, or when you want a pearl or copper finish that a cheap cone does not offer.
It is a resist and a decorative line rather than a filling colour, so it pairs with a flowing silk paint inside the outlines - our Marabu Silk Paint is the natural partner. We list it from 12 years up as a studio material. FAQs
Why is it so much dearer than a gutta cone?
The nozzle and the cap. Marabu Contours & Effects has a moulded nozzle of fixed bore and a screw cap that reseals, while our Rs. 220 Seta gutta cone has a tip you snip once and cannot reseal properly.
Which finishes can I get?
Gold, Copper, Pearl, Silver, Black and a Universal version. Each Marabu Contours & Effects tube carries its finish name printed on the cap end.
What is the difference between the silk and universal versions?
The surface, not the applicator. The purple Marabu Contours & Effects label is printed Outliner for Silk, and the grey one is Contours for universal, for surfaces other than silk.
Should I buy this or the cheaper cone?
The cone, for a one-off. Marabu Contours & Effects earns its price when you are outlining repeatedly, when several pieces have to match, or when you want a pearl or copper finish a plain cone does not offer.
Is it a paint or a resist?
Both, depending on how you use it. Marabu Contours & Effects draws a raised decorative line and also acts as a barrier that stops a flowing silk colour crossing from one area into the next.
What paint goes inside the outlines?
A thin, flowing silk colour. Our Marabu Silk Paint is the natural partner to Marabu Contours & Effects, since it is made to spread to the edge of a drawn outline and stop there.
Will the line width be the same on every tube?
Yes, within a type. The nozzle on Marabu Contours & Effects is moulded to a fixed bore rather than cut by hand, which is why repeat work matches across tubes.
Can I keep a tube once it is opened?
Yes, that is part of what you are paying for. The screw cap on Marabu Contours & Effects reseals the nozzle, so a part-used tube is still workable in a later session.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Marabu Contours & Effects 25ml in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
