A kraft-card box with a printed sleeve, lettered Marabu GREEN and BASIC, holding five soft tubes marked 5 x 100 ML. The unusual word here is alkyd. An alkyd is an oil-modified resin, and it normally arrives as a solvent-borne paint: it brushes with the body and levelling of an oil, dries harder and faster than a true oil, and needs white spirit to thin and to wash out of a brush. This one is water-based, so it keeps the alkyd handling and drops the spirit - brushes rinse under a tap while the paint is wet.
That is the whole proposition. If you like the way oil paint moves under a brush but do not want turpentine on the table, this is the answer to that specific problem. It is not a substitute for our Keep Smiling or Sensa oil colours, which are traditional oils and genuinely need a thinner, and it is not an acrylic either - it stays open longer than acrylic does.
