Zinc Titanium, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Vermilion, Scarlet, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Emerald Green, Viridian, Ultramarine, Phthalo Blue and Black.
The open carton with all twelve tubes in the tray, close enough to read the English shade name on each.
Description
The orange-lidded carton that turns up in every serious art room in the subcontinent, lettered Marie'S OIL PAINTING COLOUR with the horse-head roundel and 12 COLOURS across the top. Inside, twelve silver aluminium tubes lie in a white tray, each printed MARIE'S OIL COLOUR with its shade name in English and Chinese.
The twelve are named on the tubes, so nothing has to be guessed: Zinc Titanium, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Vermilion, Scarlet, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Emerald Green, Viridian, Ultramarine, Phthalo Blue and Black. That is a properly chosen palette rather than a rainbow - two reds that behave differently, two browns, two greens, a warm and a cool blue, and an ochre. It will mix skin, sky and shadow, which a set of twelve bright hues cannot.
These are studio-size tubes, noticeably fatter than the 12 ml student tubes in our Keep Smiling and Sensa sets, and they hold correspondingly more paint. Marie's does not print a volume on this carton or on the tubes, so we will not publish a per-millilitre figure for it. We would rather leave a number out than invent one.
What we can compare honestly is per tube within the same range. At Rs. 1,275 this set is Rs. 106.25 a tube. Our Marie's set of 18, the same orange carton and the same tubes, is Rs. 1,570 or Rs. 87.22 a tube - so the six extra tubes in that box effectively cost Rs. 49.17 each. If you are choosing between the two and the shades suit you, the 18 is the better buy by a wide margin.
Marie's oil is a traditional oil colour with a stiff, buttery body that holds a brush mark. It thins with turpentine or a painting medium, never water, and it dries over days rather than minutes. We stock turpentine from Rs. 200 and linseed oil from Rs. 299, and a primed surface - canvas or canvas board rather than raw paper - is what it wants underneath.
The carton is printed Shanghai SHC Marie Painting Materials Co., Ltd. and Made in China. We list this set from 12 years up as a studio material. The Safencia price is Rs. 1,275 with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

FAQs
Which twelve colours are in the box?
Zinc Titanium, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Vermilion, Scarlet, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Emerald Green, Viridian, Ultramarine, Phthalo Blue and Black. Every tube in the Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 prints its own name in English.
How big are the tubes?
They are studio-size tubes, visibly fatter than the 12 ml student tubes in our budget sets. Marie's prints no volume on the Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 carton or on the tubes, so we do not publish a millilitre figure for it.
Is the 18-colour set better value?
Yes, clearly. Our Marie's set of 18 is Rs. 1,570, or Rs. 87.22 a tube, against Rs. 106.25 a tube for the Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 - so the six extra tubes cost about Rs. 49 each.
Can these colours be thinned with water?
No. The Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 is a traditional oil, so it thins with turpentine or a painting medium and brushes clean the same way. We stock turpentine from Rs. 200.
What surface should I paint on?
Canvas, canvas board or another primed surface. Oil from the Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 will eventually stain through raw paper, so the ground needs to be sealed first.
How long does it take to dry?
Days rather than minutes. That is normal for oil, and it is why the Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 can be blended wet-into-wet across a session and reworked the next day.
Will twelve colours be enough for a full painting?
Yes, if they are the right twelve. The Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 carries a warm and a cool on each side plus earths and a black, which mixes far more than twelve nameable colours.
Who makes Marie's oil colour?
Shanghai SHC Marie Painting Materials Co., Ltd., whose name and a Made in China line appear under the wordmark on the lid. The Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 belongs to a long-standing studio range rather than a school-only product.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Marie's Oil Painting Colour 12 in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
