A pearl white that splits the light - pink at one angle, green at another. It is not a metal colour.
The carded bottle, showing the pearl white paint through the glass and the 20mL mark on the label.
Description
The odd one in the Mont Marte foil trio, and the one people buy expecting something else. In the bottle it is a milky pearl white, not a metal. It does not reflect the way the gold and silver do - it splits the light, so the same stroke reads pink from one angle, green from another and plain cream from straight on.
That behaviour decides where it works. Over a dark or saturated ground it lifts into a shimmer you can actually see. On white paper it is close to invisible, and the swatch photograph on this page shows exactly that: a pale smear that barely separates from the background. Anyone hoping for a bright white highlight should look at a titanium white instead.
At Rs. 800 it is the cheapest of the three foil paints we stock - Rs. 40 a millilitre against Rs. 43.75 for both the gold and the silver. That Rs. 75 gap is the only price difference in the range, and it does not indicate a lesser bottle; the iridescent simply is not a metal pigment.
The instruction printed on the back of the pack is the same as its siblings: use a paint brush to apply iridescent details to your acrylic pour artworks, once dry, and add several coats for a more intense colour. Coats matter more here than with the metals, because each pass deepens a shimmer that is subtle by design.
The studio photograph shows it being worked over a peach, cream and rose pour - a warm, pale painting where gold would be heavy-handed and silver would go grey. This is the bottle for pastel work, shell and mermaid effects, resin pieces, air-dry clay and anything meant to catch light rather than announce itself.
The back of the pack states it conforms to ASTM D-4236 and EN71-3 and points to a safety data sheet on the maker's website. It is designed in Australia and made in China under licence. We list it from 12 years up as a studio material. FAQs
Is the iridescent a silver or a white?
Neither, strictly. Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint is a pearl that splits light, so a single stroke can read pink, green or cream depending on the angle you look from.
Why is it cheaper than the gold and silver?
Because it is a different kind of pigment, not a lesser bottle. Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint is Rs. 800, or Rs. 40 a millilitre, against Rs. 43.75 for the two metals in the same range.
Will it show up on white paper?
Barely. Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint needs a dark or saturated ground to read - on white it is close to invisible, which the brushed swatch on this page shows plainly.
How many coats should I use?
Several, and the pack says so. Each pass deepens the shimmer, so Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint is built up rather than laid down in one covering stroke.
Can it be mixed into a wet pour?
No. The pack instruction for Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint is to brush it onto an acrylic pour once dry, because the effect depends on sitting at the surface where light can reach it.
What kind of artwork suits it best?
Pale and pastel work. Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint was made for peach, cream and rose grounds, shell and mermaid effects, resin pieces and air-dry clay - places where gold would be heavy and silver would grey out.
Does the pack list any standards?
Yes. The back of the Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint pack states that it conforms to ASTM D-4236 and EN71-3, and gives a link to the manufacturer's safety data sheet.
How large is the bottle?
20 mL, marked 0.68 US fl.oz on the label. Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint comes in a glass bottle with a screw cap, carded for hanging.
Can I pay cash on delivery for Mont Marte Iridescent Foil Paint in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
