Aurora is the bright colourway in Mont Marte's Premium pouring range, and it is the one that looks least like a pour and most like a photograph of the sky. Two pinks, a deep Harmonic Blue and a pale Mint Green: the blue-and-mint pair does the cold work, the two pinks the warm, and where they meet the pour goes violet rather than muddy. Our photographs show exactly that — a poured puddle running magenta through lilac into turquoise with no dead grey anywhere.

Three of the four bottle labels read cleanly in the owner's photographs: Hot Pink, Harmonic Blue and Mint Green. The fourth is the set's second, lighter pink, and its printed name never faces the camera in any of the five photographs we have, so we are not going to guess at it. Everything else here is read straight off the pack.

The paint is pre-mixed and ready to pour, which is the whole point of this range. There is no pouring medium to buy separately, no paint-to-medium ratio to get wrong, and nothing to stir. Each bottle is 60 mL, printed 2.0 US fl.oz, with a white flip-top cap you can flick open one-handed while the other hand is holding a full cup.

At Rs. 2,000 for four bottles, this set holds 240 ml and works out to Rs. 500 a bottle and Rs. 8.33 a millilitre. That matches our Rainforest, Cosmic, Symphony and Ethereal colourways exactly; our Celestial set is a little cheaper at Rs. 1,900, and Flamingo is dearer at Rs. 2,625. Two practical notes from the range's own packaging. If you want cells rather than plain ribbons, Mont Marte's printed hint is to add extra silicone oil, and to work somewhere with good ventilation. And expect the bottles to look separated when they arrive: the packaging warns that separation happens because the paint is pre-mixed, and tells you to shake well before every use.
