The AL 30 is Pelikan's compact pencil eraser — a short white block in a blue paper sleeve, and the least expensive branded eraser in our range. It is the one that fits a crowded pencil case without taking up half of it.
Do not read the number as a size. Pelikan's AL 20 is the longer block and the AL 30 is the shorter, chunkier one. What the number does track is the trade box: AL 20 erasers come twenty to a display box, AL 30 erasers come thirty.
Pelikan prints phthalate-free and latex-free on the AL 30 display box. That is the manufacturer's own wording on its own packaging, and it is worth having on something that spends its life in school bags.
The block is firm and white, made for graphite. The sleeve reads Für Bleistift · For pencil in German and English, and that is the honest limit of it — on a ballpoint line it will mark the paper without lifting the ink.
Because it is short, it wears down to an awkward stub sooner than a full-length block would. That is the trade-off for the size and the price. For a student who mislays erasers regularly, replacing this one costs very little.
