Description

The blue-collared Cotman round, sold one brush at a time. A short pale handle, a bright chrome ferrule with a blue band at its base, and a golden synthetic head that comes to a point. Series 111 is the short-handle round in the Cotman family, and the size is printed on the handle.

A round is the brush watercolour is actually painted with. Held upright it draws a line as fine as the point; laid over on its side it releases the whole belly of the head as a broad wash; and everything between those two is one continuous range controlled by nothing but the angle of your hand. A flat cannot do that, which is why a painter who owns one brush owns a round.

The sizes we can supply run 0000, 000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Anything in the photographs above 8 belongs to the same family but is not on our list, so order from the twelve names rather than from the picture.

The price ladder is worth reading before you choose, because it does not do what you expect. It falls from Rs. 1,500 at 0000 down to Rs. 1,200 at size 0, and only then starts climbing — Rs. 1,350 at 1, Rs. 1,550 at 2, up to Rs. 3,250 at 8. The miniature sizes cost more than a 0 because making a head that small and still pointed is harder, not because they hold more hair. The cheapest brush in the whole series is the size 0.

For most people the sensible first buy is a 6 or an 8. A big round holds enough water to carry a wash across a page without running dry halfway, and it still comes to a point fine enough for detail — one brush doing two jobs. The 0000 and 000 are specialists: signatures, eyelashes, the last three hairs of a botanical study. They are not beginner brushes and they are not cheap.

Rinse it before the paint sets, reshape the point between your fingers, and stand it head-up to dry. Tell us the size on WhatsApp when you order. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed before dispatch.

Why this product is worth considering

One Brush, Two Jobs

Upright it draws a line as fine as its point; laid over it releases the whole belly as a wash. Nothing else covers that range.

Twelve Sizes, Sold Singly

0000 through 8, each priced on its own, so a painter buys the one size they will actually wear out.

The Ladder Dips at Zero

0000 is Rs. 1,500 and 0 is Rs. 1,200 — the miniature sizes cost more because a tiny head that still points is harder to make.

Series 111, Short Handle

The short-handle round in the Cotman family, which is the length for working close over a table or a block.

Blue-Banded Ferrule

The chrome ferrule with a blue band at its base is what identifies a Cotman across a crowded brush pot.

Golden Synthetic Head

A springy synthetic point that recovers its shape after a stroke rather than staying bent the way a soft natural hair can.

FAQs

Which sizes can I order?

0000, 000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The Cotman 111 Round is priced per size, from Rs. 1,200 up to Rs. 3,250.

Why is the tiniest brush not the cheapest?

Because a head that small still has to come to a point. The Cotman 111 Round ladder falls from Rs. 1,500 at 0000 to Rs. 1,200 at size 0 before it starts climbing again.

Which size should I buy first?

A 6 or an 8. A larger Cotman 111 Round holds enough water to carry a wash across the page and still points finely enough for detail.

The photographs show sizes above 8 — can I order those?

Not from us. The pictures show the wider family; our list stops at 8, so order by name from the twelve sizes above.

What does short handle mean?

The handle length. A short handle suits close work over a table or a watercolour block, while a long handle is for standing back from an easel.

Is the head natural hair or synthetic?

Synthetic, golden in colour. It springs back to a point after a stroke, which is what keeps the Cotman 111 Round drawing a clean line as it is used.

Can I use it for acrylic?

Yes, provided it is rinsed before the paint sets. Acrylic that dries inside the ferrule splays the head permanently, and no amount of soaking undoes it.

How should it be dried?

Reshape the point with your fingers and stand it head-up. A brush left resting on its point in a jar bends the very hairs that make it a round.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Cotman 111 Round in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Tell us on WhatsApp which size you want. Orders are confirmed before dispatch, and delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities.
