Each nib is a whole front section that screws onto the barrel. Unscrew the fitted one, screw the next in, and the pen is ready — there is no pushing a bare steel nib into a collar and no ink on your fingers during the swap.

Broad-edge hands — italic, Gothic and uncial. The stroke changes width because the flat edge is held at a steady angle, not because you press harder. That is the same principle a bamboo qalam works on, which is why this set behaves closer to a qalam than to a pointed dip pen.

You replace them. These pens take ordinary short international cartridges, which most stationery shops carry, and the nib units are unaffected — only the ink is consumed. Keep one cartridge back until you have found a local supply.
