Description
The pen that ink drawing is built on, sold one at a time. The cream barrel carries the Sakura blossom mark, the word MICRON, the nib code in colour, and the line that matters: ARCHIVAL INK, repeated as Qualité d'Archivage and Tinta de Archive, beside the AP seal.
Micron sizes are codes, not millimetres, and that is worth understanding before you order. The range runs 005, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 08 and a BR brush tip, each code printed on its own barrel in a different colour so a fistful of pens can be sorted at a glance. The nothing printed anywhere on the pen is a millimetre figure, so we do not quote one — what the range photograph does show is Sakura's own chart of the actual strokes, drawn one under the other, which is the only comparison that means anything on paper.

What size is 005 in millimetres?
Nothing on the pen states a millimetre figure, so we do not quote one. The Pigma Micron range is ordered by code — 005 is the finest and 08 the broadest of the coded nibs.
Which sizes can I order?

What is the BR pen?
A brush tip rather than a rigid nib. It flexes under pressure, so a single Pigma Micron BR stroke can widen from a hairline to a broad mark for lettering or comic work.
Which sizes should a beginner buy?
Three is usually enough — a fine one for texture, a middling one for the drawing, and a heavier one for outlines. Buying Pigma Micron pens singly is what makes that possible.
Is the ink waterproof over pencil?
The barrel states archival ink and carries the AP seal, and nothing more specific is printed on it. Test a stroke on the same paper before erasing pencil under it.

Capped and flat rather than nib-down. A fine nib left uncapped dries out quickly, which is the usual reason a good pen stops writing.
