Stirred into dry colour powder it binds the pigment so the finished work stays put instead of dusting off the paper.
The Prima version of the UD binder, with the rabbit roundel above the orange UD BINDER oval and PRIMA INDUSTRIES PAKISTAN across the foot of the label.
Description
UD binder is the bottle every art student in Pakistan is eventually told to buy and almost never gets explained. It is a milky liquid binder: on its own it does nothing visible, but stirred into dry colour powder it turns loose pigment into paint that stays on the paper instead of dusting off. That is the whole job, and it is why art rooms and craft stalls keep a bottle of it rather than a jar of imported medium.
We stock it in two brands and, because both come and go, your bottle arrives as whichever is in stock — the blue Prima label with the rabbit roundel and PRIMA INDUSTRIES PAKISTAN across the foot, or the teal Gold Star label reading Gold Star Drawing & Art Material. They are the same size bottle at the same price and are sold for the same job. If you need one specific label for a school list, say so on WhatsApp before we dispatch and we will tell you what is on the shelf that day.
One difference is worth stating rather than glossing over. The Gold Star label prints 120 ml on the front. The Prima bottle in our photographs is the same size and is sold as the same 120 ml, but its label carries no printed volume — so we are telling you what we can see rather than putting a figure on a bottle that does not show one. The Gold Star bottle is also clear enough to see the level through, while the Prima bottle is opaque white plastic.
The price is where this bottle earns its place. At Rs. 160 for 120 ml it works out to about Rs. 1.33 per millilitre, which makes it by a wide margin the cheapest liquid on our mediums shelf — the imported Mont Marte acrylic pouring medium is around Rs. 5.21 per millilitre, roughly four times as much. They are not the same product and should not be treated as substitutes: the imported mediums are specified acrylic products for canvas work, while UD binder is the general-purpose local binder for powder colour, board work and craft.
Buy it if you are working with dry colour powders, poster-colour powder, chart work or school craft where cost matters more than an archival specification. Buy an acrylic medium instead if you are painting on canvas and want a stated, repeatable result. We list it for ages 12 and up, and neither label states a composition, a drying time or a safety certification — so we do not either.
The Safencia price is Rs. 160 with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan. Stock, brand availability, your city, and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

FAQs
What is UD binder actually used for?
It binds dry colour powder into usable paint. Loose pigment on its own brushes off once dry, and stirring in a binder is what makes it stick to paper or board — the same reason it also turns up in school craft work.
Which brand will I receive, Prima or Gold Star?
Whichever is in stock on the day. Both are 120 ml bottles at Rs. 160 sold for the same purpose, so we do not charge differently for them. If a school list names one brand, tell us on WhatsApp before dispatch and we will check what is on the shelf.
Is UD binder the same as an acrylic medium?
No. Acrylic mediums such as our Mont Marte range are specified products for canvas painting, with printed volumes, uses and finishes. UD binder is the inexpensive local general-purpose binder — useful and far cheaper, but not a like-for-like replacement for a studio medium.
How much binder do I mix with colour powder?
Start with a small amount and add more until the mix brushes smoothly without being watery, because different powders take different quantities. Mix only what you will use in a sitting rather than binding a whole jar of powder at once.
Does the label say what is inside the bottle?
No. Neither the Prima nor the Gold Star label states a composition, drying time or safety certification, so we do not claim any. What we can tell you is what is printed and what the bottles look like.
Why is the Prima bottle's volume not printed?
The Prima label in our photographs carries the brand, the words UD BINDER and PRIMA INDUSTRIES PAKISTAN, but no volume line. It is the same size bottle as the Gold Star and is sold as the same 120 ml — we are simply not going to print a figure the label does not show.
Can children use it for school projects?
We list it for ages 12 and up and recommend adult supervision for younger children, because neither label carries a safety marking for us to rely on. Work in a ventilated room and keep it off skin and clothing as you would with any craft liquid.
Can I pay cash on delivery for UD Binder 120 ml in Pakistan?
Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.
How fast is delivery in Pakistan?
Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
