Description

A 400 ml aerosol from the Winsor & Newton Professional range, printed GLOSS VARNISH and repeated in four more languages down to Firnis Glänzend. The can states 400 ml e and 280 g net, and the line under the name is the one that matters most: REMOVABLE. WITH UV PROTECTION.

Removable is not a small print detail, it is the entire argument for varnishing at all. A finished painting collects dust, cooking smoke and the grey film city air leaves on everything, and none of that comes off bare paint without taking paint with it. A removable varnish takes the dirt instead: years later the varnish is lifted, the grime leaves with it, and the paint underneath is untouched.

Gloss also does something to colour. Dark passages in oil and acrylic dry back dull and patchy because the binder sinks into the ground unevenly, so a black looks grey in one corner and rich in another. A gloss varnish refills that surface, evens the sheen across the canvas and pulls the darks back to the depth they had when they were wet.

The aerosol exists because a brush cannot varnish everything. Impasto, palette-knife texture and open canvas grain all drag at a loaded brush and pick colour back up; a spray never touches the surface. Hold the can upright about 25 to 30 cm away, sweep past the edge on both sides, and build two or three thin coats rather than one wet one.

The one thing this can cannot rush is drying. Acrylic is ready in days, but oil dries from the surface downward and stays soft underneath for months, so painters are usually told to wait around six months on an ordinary oil painting and longer on heavy impasto. If the picture still smells of oil, it is not ready.

We stock a second 400 ml gloss spray — the Daler-Rowney Artists' Clear Picture Varnish at Rs. 5,200 — so it is worth saying where the Rs. 615 goes. Both are gloss aerosols for oil and acrylic. What differs is what each label commits to: this can prints removable and with UV protection, and the Daler-Rowney can states neither on the face we have photographed. For a study, the cheaper can does the job; for work you expect to still own in twenty years, buy the label that promises it comes off again.

Spray outdoors or at an open window, keep the can away from heat and out of reach of children, and let an adult do the spraying.

The Safencia price is Rs. 5,815 for the 400 ml can. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, and stock, your city and delivery charges are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.

Why this product is worth considering

Removable, and That Is the Point

The can prints REMOVABLE. WITH UV PROTECTION. Lifting the varnish later takes the years of grime with it and leaves the paint underneath alone.

Brings the Darks Back

Oil and acrylic dry back dull where the binder sinks in. A gloss coat evens the sheen across the canvas and restores depth to dark passages.

Never Touches the Painting

A spray reaches impasto, knife texture and open canvas grain that a loaded brush would drag across and lift colour from.

FAQs

What does removable mean on this can?

It means the varnish layer can be taken off again later without disturbing the paint. Professional Gloss Varnish is meant to carry the dust and smoke film so that cleaning a picture never means cleaning the paint itself.

How long should oil paint dry before varnishing?

Painters are usually told to wait around six months on an ordinary oil painting, and longer on thick impasto. Professional Gloss Varnish laid over paint that is still soft underneath traps wet paint below a skin, which cracks later.

Can it go over acrylic as well as oil?

Yes. Acrylic needs far less waiting than oil — a few days for a normal painting — and takes the same thin sprayed coats of Professional Gloss Varnish.

How far from the painting do I hold the can?

About 25 to 30 cm, moving the whole time. Start the sweep off the edge of the work so Professional Gloss Varnish is already flowing evenly before it crosses the picture, and build two or three thin coats.

Gloss or matt — which should I choose?

Gloss deepens dark colours and gives a wet, saturated look; matt kills reflections so a picture reads under a tube light or in a lit room. Professional Gloss Varnish is the saturated choice, and the matt spray in the same range is the low-glare one.

Where should it be sprayed?

Outdoors, on a balcony, or at an open window with air moving away from you. Professional Gloss Varnish is a solvent aerosol and the vapour lingers in a closed room, so an adult should do the spraying.

How is it different from the Daler-Rowney gloss spray you sell?

The labels differ in what they promise. Professional Gloss Varnish prints removable and with UV protection on the can; the Daler-Rowney Artists' Clear Picture Varnish at Rs. 5,200 states neither on the face we have photographed, and both are 400 ml gloss aerosols for oil and acrylic.

Will it help a painting that already looks patchy?

Usually yes, if the patchiness is sunken colour rather than damage. An even coat of Professional Gloss Varnish evens the sheen across the whole surface, so dull corners match the rest again.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Professional Gloss Varnish in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
